Evening of Day 27 - Tornado Warning in Abilene, KS!

Tornado Warning for the Dickinson County Area! Here's a special update to my Day 27 blog entry. At about 8 p.m., we were watching a pretty fierce electrical storm moving in from the west. By 8:45 p.m., the rain was falling sideways, the wind was picking up, and then the tornado sirens sounded! Below is video from that evening. By 9:30, the storm had moved over our hotel and the rain had subsided. The flicker of lightning continued into the evening, but we had dodged our first Kansas tornado!
