The Ride for Impact - www.rideforimpact.org

2009 is here. And to me that means one big, humongous deal. This summer, from June 6 to July 28, I will ride 3,800 miles by bike from San Francisco, CA to Portsmouth, NH to raise support for IMPACT Ministries.

Why Would Someone do something this crazy?
That’s an excellent question. As a long-distance cyclist for the last 8 years, I’ve always dreamed of taking a cross-country tour. About six years ago, I set a goal to do it before I turned 40. Now it’s time. To add more purpose to this goal, I’m riding for IMPACT Ministries to raise $20,000 for global missions and relief.

So... How Can I Help Bob?
In August, 2002, I made my first overseas mission trip to Manila, Philippines. On this trip, I saw firsthand, how the poorest of the poor lived. Children playing and living in slums and squatter villages, families working in garbage dumps to make enough money for a day’s meal, houses not bigger than a closet as a home for as many as seven people... these were the images and experiences burned into my soul.

On two subsequent trips to Manila, as well as a family mission trip in 2007 to build homes for impoverished families in Ensenada, Mexico, my heart to meet the needs of those around our globe who need our help most, has only intensified.

This summer, my goal of riding across the United States in 52 days by bike will be combined with perhaps a greater goal... and a greater purpose: to raise $20,000 for global relief through IMPACT Ministries (International Missions Projects and Construction Teams)—a global relief and Christian missions agency.

Your gift of $25, $50, $100 or more for IMPACT Ministries will directly benefit hurting and needy families around the world. IMPACT is a missions sending organization—helping to send missionaries around the globe; a disaster relief organization—helping to rebuild churches and homes in the wake of natural disasters; and a community development ministry—improving communities from Manila to Mexico with wells for clean drinking water, starting preschools, or building homes.

To be a link in my chain, and to help me reach this goal of $20,000 for global relief, please make a donation today. You can use your debit or credit card through PayPal at www.rideforimpact.org or you can send your tax-deductible donation (checks payable to “IMPACT Ministries”) to the mailing address below. You will receive a receipt for your gift.
